I recently acquired a Voltaire ISR-9024D (not -M) switch for my home hobby/testing/etc lab, and I have a couple questions:
1) The fan module in this switch is very loud. I do not think it really supports multiple speeds like the -M model is said to. Is it safe to run this switch without the fan module? What happens if it overheats? Will the switch power off, or will it keep running until it incurs damage from the excess heat?
2) Is there any way to retrieve temperature information from this switch? I have seen some documents which imply that you can, but all the methods I've seen seem to only apply to the -M model.
