Hello *
we're going to deploy some new Storage Servers via a 40g NIC by PXE / Netboot and running into trouble.
As we've debugged in the last days by TCPDUMP and on our Switch after the TFTP Fetch of the pxelinux.0 Bootloader during the HTTP Transfer of the Kernel and initrd the Interface goes down for no reason and this kills the whole Network Boot Process. The NIC itself is working well under Ubuntu Xenial 16.04.
Our Configuration:
* Storage Server BigFoot Storage XXL 4HE short V3, with Supermicro Mainbaord X10SRL-F
* 1-Port 40g NIC Mellanox MT27520 Family [ConnectX-3 Pro], PCI ID 4103
* Flexboot 3.4.718, Firmware 2.36.5000
* Juniper qfx5100-24q-2p Ethernet Switch
PXE Software:
* Pixiecore see GitHub - danderson/pixiecore: PXE booting for people in a hurry.
* with built-in PXELINUX 6.03, also tested with 6.04 Beta
We've deployed in the Past several Dozen of Servers with Pixicore, all with 1G or 10G Interfaces (Intel, Broadcom Chipset).
Any Suggestions?
Best, J. Brunk
