Hi guys
I working on a project, and I need to know the next:
1. the effective cost of a switch: the price of a given switch is based on the number of ports? or the switching elements that composes it? or what factor are implied with the price of development this type of device?
Is there a formula to calculate the value of this devices, for example a base_cost + switching_elements + switch_ports?
Is possible to get this values?
(for example this switch [Mellanox InfiniScale IV IS5023 QDR 18-Port InfiniBand Switch - Part ID: MIS5023Q-1BFR - Colfax Direct] have a price of 3460us and this other [Mellanox InfiniScale IV IS5024 QDR 36-Port InfiniBand Switch - Part ID: MIS5024Q-1BFR - Switches - Colfax Direct] a price of 6250), what is the relation to get this prices?
2. the price of the cables: apart of the length of a cable is there any other factor for the price of link. (for a specific cable: optical or copper)
Is there any formula to calculate this values??? For example, base_price * length*15us = $
Thanks
