I am working on Grid Director 4036 and need some guidance on the build-in sm. Looks like the only way to configure partition is to import partition.conf file.
This is my first time configure this and any help will be greatly appreciated.
1. From reading a few people’s post looks like I can configure as the following
---------------------------------------------------------
Default=0xffff , ipoib: ALL=full
Partition10=0x10 , ipoib , defmember=full : ALL=full;
Partition11=0x11 , ipoib , defmember=full : ALL=full;
Partition12=0x12 , ipoib , defmember=full : ALL=full;
Partition13=0x13 , ipoib , defmember=full : ALL=full;
Partition14=0x14 , ipoib , defmember=full : ALL=full;
Partition15=0x15 , ipoib , defmember=full : ALL=full;
Partition16=0x16 , ipoib , defmember=full : ALL=full;
Partition17=0x17 , ipoib , defmember=full : ALL=full;
Partition18=0x18 , ipoib , defmember=full : ALL=full;
Partition19=0x19 , ipoib , defmember=full : ALL=full;
Partition20=0x20 , ipoib , defmember=full : ALL=full;
------------------------------------------------------
Is defmember=full means any physical port will have access to any of the partitions as long as the partition is created on the system?
2. In Windows looks like there is a limitation of only one Virtual IB adapter (partition with 0xffff) and for the rest of the systems I can create up to 127 partitions is that correct?
3. Looks like I can use sm-info partition import-partitions-file. Is that just going to overwrite the default partition.config file?
The lab servers are 2 x Dell PowerEdge C6100 with 8 nodes total. Each node with Connect X2 VPI HBA. (4 running Windows Server 2012 R2 and 4 running vSphere 5.5) Two storage server with Connect X2 VPI. One runs Solaris 11.1 for ZFS and the other runs Servers 2012 R2 for SMB 3.
Any recommendation and suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Mark
